NEET is a Solana cult coin built on the "Not in Employment, Education, or Training" identity, whose community funded real world anti work protests with pump.fun creator revenue and survived repeated 80 percent crashes.

NEET (styled "Not in Employment, Education, or Training") is a meme coin on the Solana blockchain launched through pump.fun in the first half of 2025. The ticker adopts the acronym coined in a 1999 United Kingdom government report for young people outside work and school, a label that imageboard culture long ago converted from insult into identity. Among the 2025 to 2026 crop of concept coins it became the flagship of what commentators called digital unemployment: the joke that in the trenches, nobody has a job anyway.

Origin and cult

NEET launched as a 4chan flavored community coin and slowly accreted one of the more genuine cults of the cycle. Its holders reframed NEETdom from passive failure into a philosophy of reclaimed time, publishing a guiding document called The 10 Commandments of Neet that, contrary to the stereotype, urges members to go outside, stay fit, invest carefully, and maintain friendships. Odaily profiled the community under the headline "Work is dead, NEET is born," describing it as a cultural movement wearing a meme coin as its funding mechanism.

That funding was literal. Using revenue from pump.fun's creator fee sharing, organizers staged offline demonstrations: a "no work" protest on Wall Street on May 20, 2025, and a second action in Times Square on October 3, 2025, waving anti work slogans at the heart of American finance.

Market history

The token's path was unusually violent even by meme standards, surviving at least three drawdowns of more than 80 percent. From an all time low in June 2025 it climbed through the winter, sank to about 7 million dollars in market capitalization on February 12, 2026, then rallied to roughly 40 million dollars by April 13, 2026. CoinGecko dates the all time high to May 25, 2026, at a price implying about 49 million dollars. As of mid August 2026 the market capitalization sits near 24 million dollars, with volume split between PumpSwap, Raydium, and LBank, an unusually strong retention for a coin with no catalyst beyond its identity.

Cultural impact

NEET is cited alongside Useless Coin and Housecoin as evidence that the post 2024 meta rewarded grievance and identity over animals and celebrities. Where most cult coins claim a lifestyle, NEET's members performed theirs in public, and the spectacle of a jobless cult funding street protests from bonding curve fees became one of the defining images of the creator rewards gold rush era.
