NUB launched as a fair distribution token with a supply just under one billion, built around images of a round faced cat. Community accounts of the period tie the token to the cat belonging to Ansem, whose posts about his pet fueled weeks of speculation over the animal's name; the association was folkloric rather than official, and Ansem endorsed no token.
