Kelsier Ventures is a Davis family run firm that presents itself publicly as a web3 venture capital shop, but that investigative reporting and court filings allege sits behind a string of memecoin launches including LIBRA, MELANIA, WOLF, and the PUMP ICO, and that now faces a 57 million dollar amended RICO complaint and a separate class action, all contested and unresolved.

Kelsier Ventures is a firm run by the Davis family that markets itself as web3 venture capital while, per investigations by PANews, ChainCatcher, and BlockBeats, allegedly operating as the coordinating entity behind some of the trench era's most damaging memecoin launches, most notably LIBRA, the token endorsed by Argentine president Javier Milei whose February 2025 collapse became the LIBRA scandal. As of August 19, 2026, Kelsier and its public facing executive Hayden Davis face an amended RICO complaint alleging at least 57 million dollars in retail losses and a separate active class action, Hurlock v. Kelsier, filed by Burwick Law; no court has ruled on the merits of either.

Origin

Kelsier Ventures presents itself publicly as a web3 venture capital firm. Corporate registration and press describe it as founded in 2021 and based in Delaware, while family matriarch Emily Chynoweth Davis wrote on her own blog that the family "created a family business in 2023" to bind the family "like wolves," a discrepancy in origin dating worth reporting as attributed claims rather than resolved fact.

The Davis family

The firm is a Davis family operation per PANews and ChainCatcher investigations: Hayden Davis has operated as the public facing developer and executor, his father Tom Davis has at points called himself chairman or CEO, and brother Gideon Davis serves as COO. Gideon Davis previously worked in 2022 on the DeFi project Unlock and its metaverse spinoff NeoNexus, which announced in March 2022 it had run out of funds and was accused by its own community of a soft rug.

Alleged launches

Kelsier is alleged to have profited over 200 million dollars across a string of memecoin launches including MELANIA, ENRON, and BOB, with M3M3, a Meteora backed launchpad, used as key infrastructure for fund allocation, information leaks, and launch timing decisions, per BlockBeats and ChainCatcher reporting. All figures are allegations from investigative reporting, not adjudicated findings.

LIBRA is the entity's defining scandal: launched February 14, 2025 tied to an endorsement from Argentine president Javier Milei, the token collapsed after Milei deleted his post. Hayden Davis submitted a voluntary statement to a New York federal court around June 23, 2025 denying fraud, insider trading, and knowledge of snipers, and proposed returning approximately 100 million dollars moved February 14 and 15, 2025. His US defense argued that memecoins "are not investments, have no intrinsic value, but are unsecured, uncollateralized affinities and collectibles with extremely high market volatility." Argentina's parallel criminal case escalated April 5, 2026 when the querella led by investor Martin Romeo asked a federal judge to summon Davis for formal questioning among 16 people, attributing to him orchestration of the financial arrangements, an August 1, 2024 visit to Argentina's Central Bank, and a 1.55 million dollar bribery agreement; these are querella allegations, not findings, and Davis has denied wrongdoing throughout.

MELANIA: Davis helped launch Melania Trump's coin on January 19, 2025 and told Coffeezilla he ensured its liquidity. The token touched roughly 2 billion dollars in market cap then fell 75 percent within 24 hours.

WOLF: a March 2025 Bubblemaps analysis found 82 percent of WOLF supply controlled by linked wallets and traced the deployment wallet to accounts Davis had used for LIBRA and MELANIA. WOLF peaked near a 40 million dollar market cap on March 8, 2025 before collapsing 99 percent.

YZY sniping: Bubblemaps traced an alleged 12 million dollar insider sniping operation on Kanye West's YZY coin launch to Hayden Davis, funded by 57 million dollars in previously frozen funds released the day before launch. YZY had launched at a roughly 3 billion dollar peak before crashing, settling near 137 million dollars.

PUMP ICO: on February 19, 2026 BeInCrypto reported Bubblemaps had linked a Davis wallet to the second largest private allocation in pump.fun's July 2025 PUMP token ICO, 50 million dollars of USDC for 12.5 billion PUMP tokens, with roughly 80 percent moved to exchanges within days for an estimated 15 million dollar profit. Argentine outlet Diario de Cuyo reported April 1, 2026 that investigators view the participation as a new suspected maneuver matching the LIBRA pattern.

Litigation

An October 2025 amended complaint against Meteora cofounder Benjamin Chow alleges at least 57 million dollars in retail losses across M3M3, LIBRA, MELANIA, ENRON, and TRUST, describing Chow as "at the center of the enterprise" and naming Meteora and Jupiter cofounder Ng Ming Yeow and the Davis family of Kelsier Ventures as his alleged team. Plaintiffs seek disgorgement, treble damages under RICO, and an independent receiver over Meteora's smart contracts; all allegations, contested. Bloomberg Law separately headlined the buyers' claims as a 69 million dollar scheme.

Burwick Law separately lists an active class action, Hurlock v. Kelsier, against Meteora, Kelsier Ventures, and Hayden Davis over the M3M3 and LIBRA launches.

A lawyer had earlier sought an Interpol Red Notice for Davis in the LIBRA matter. As of August 19, 2026 there is no confirmed extradition, no granted Interpol notice, and no reported ruling on any motion to dismiss or class certification in the US case.

Public face today

At least one former Kelsier Ventures employee remains publicly active in crypto trading circles, self describing as "Ex @kelsierventures & @FTX_Official," a firsthand link between the entity and the wider trading community, not evidence of continued wrongdoing.

Kelsier Ventures maintains a public X account, @kelsierventures, and a website, kelsier.io, describing itself as driving "web3 innovation through market expertise, in depth research, and targeted investments," a self presentation starkly at odds with the litigation record above.
