Unlike the real animal coins of the era it is not tied to one famous creature: Chonketha is an original character, a very round, very wet beaver whose official description is "big cheeks. Bigger memes. Absolutely zero thoughts." The project's site chonketha.com brands her "The Billion Dollar Beaver" and calls the holder base "the colony," with the tagline "built by beavers, for beavers."

Concept

The coin arrived as the July 2026 animal rotation was hunting for a new archetype after months of cats, dogs and monkeys. Its marketing leans on the standing internet affection for beavers, citing viral clips of dam building, tree felling and unbothered chewing, and argues that after Moo Deng and the rest, "every animal got its moment" and the beaver's had come, a line the exchange KCEX repeated when promoting the token. Community posts extended the character into an adjective, describing anything chunky and serenely oblivious as chonketha coded, which became the coin's calling card phrase on Crypto Twitter. KCEX listed CHONKETHA spot trading with zero fees in early August 2026 and promoted it as "the viral beaver meme coin," giving it a centralized venue unusually quickly for a coin of its size. Trackers recorded the token distributed across more than 6,000 holder wallets. As of mid August 2026 it trades at a market capitalization around 7.7 million dollars with daily volume near 200,000 dollars per DexScreener and GeckoTerminal, making it one of the larger original character animal coins of the summer cohort.
