DADDY (Daddy Tate) is the Solana meme coin promoted by Andrew Tate in June 2024, remembered for its rivalry with MOTHER and for insider buying allegations at launch.

DADDY, branded Daddy Tate, is a Solana meme coin associated with the internet personality Andrew Tate. Launched on pump.fun on June 9, 2024, it was created as a direct answer to Iggy Azalea's MOTHER and became one of the largest tokens of the summer 2024 celebrity coin wave, as well as one of its most scrutinized.

Origin

The token appeared days after MOTHER's breakout, with Tate throwing his promotion behind it and framing the coin explicitly as the daddy to Azalea's mother. A single June 9, 2024 transaction moved 40 percent of the DADDY supply into Tate's own wallet shortly before he began promoting the coin, a stash CoinDesk reported worth about 64 to 65 million dollars at the mid June peak; Tate said he would hold it and pledged not to sell, promoting the coin to his tens of millions of followers as a long term hold. The launch drew immediate allegations of coordinated insider buying. Bubblemaps published the defining analysis: 11 wallets funded through Binance with nearly identical amounts simultaneously bought 20 percent of DADDY on June 9, 2024, before the project's first announcement, and two further wallet clusters held about another 10 percent, putting alleged insider holdings near 30 percent of supply, worth over 45 million dollars across about 21 wallets at mid June 2024 prices. Bubblemaps noted it could not fully confirm the Binance funded wallets belonged to one group, and the buying was never admitted by the project. After Bubblemaps published its investigation, Tate blocked the research firm's profile on X, per Crypto Briefing's June 2024 reporting. No formal action followed.

Market history

DADDY reached a market capitalization around 240 million dollars within three days of launch, with some trackers recording the all time high market value slightly lower, near 209 million dollars, and the peak price around 0.336 dollars on June 12, 2024. FXStreet covered its 450 percent surge past MOTHER in mid June. On June 13, 2024 Tate burned 400 million DADDY tokens, worth about 110 million dollars, the same day he announced the token's CoinMarketCap listing, posting "I will never sell what was sent to my wallet, I will only burn and buy. Forever. Diamond hands." Market capitalization rose to about 300 million dollars around the burn. DADDY was not Tate's first token stunt: he had previously burned 567 million tokens of an earlier Solana coin branded TOP G, which spiked about 200 percent on the burn before collapsing, a precedent critics cited at the DADDY launch. The token then settled into the celebrity coin decay curve, but its chart stayed unusually news reactive: Decrypt and Cryptopolitan documented rallies of 20 to 78 percent on developments in Tate's legal saga, including Romanian charges being dropped in November 2024, his departure from Romania in February 2025, and a new Florida criminal investigation announced shortly after. Each event repriced the coin as a proxy on Tate's fortunes.

On November 30, 2024 Tate ran a 48 hour birthday giveaway of DADDY from his own wallet, promising doubled prize payouts past 10 thousand retweets; the post drew about 19 thousand likes and over 1.2 million views. Tate was still working the coin in mid 2026: on July 4, 2026 he tweeted that any new coin wanting his support must route 70 percent of supply plus its pump.fun creator fees to his wallet, pledging "All creator fees will purchase $Daddy." The post drew about 2.1 million views, and trader Sue (@sue_xbt) mocked it with "you've been purchasing $DADDY for over 2 years and the chart looks like this."

By August 2026 DADDY traded around a 7 million dollar market capitalization, roughly 97 percent below its June 2024 peak. A 2026 CryptoNews buyer's guide noted the token's website and official X account had been suspended, and CoinGecko carries a notice that the token is not officially affiliated with Andrew Tate.

Cultural impact

DADDY versus MOTHER was the defining spectacle of the celebrity summer, a literal gender war traded on chain, and it fixed the template of celebrity coins as attention derivatives on their namesakes. The launch also became a standard case study in sniper and insider analysis: the pattern of identically funded fresh wallets front running the announcement is still shown in wallet tracking tutorials. In the trenches DADDY is additionally remembered for making the courtroom a price catalyst, with traders openly gaming legal headlines, a dynamic later echoed by political tokens during the 2025 to 2026 news cycles.
