In May 2026 Joji became the center of a community spectacle around the FIFA World Cup coin wave, later nicknamed worldcupfolio. He put roughly 1,500 dollars total across a spread of national team coins, self reported as "bought like 5 sol of this $worldcup coin yesterday and 1 to 2 sol of a bunch of teams before going to sleep," then narrated the swings publicly, including "down 100 bands today." When his position on the eventual winning coin turned into a large payout, the trade became a talking point across the trenches: one congratulant wrote "Investing only $400 @metaversejoji made lifechanging amount of money," while a critic countered "All it takes is one insider coin to change your life. Directed by Joji," an insider insinuation attributed to that account alone, unproven, and denied by nobody in particular. Trader jeets pushed back on the pile on with a detail consistent with his blunt PnL persona: "joji took a big hit in the trenches and from my understanding, he was not profitable in the recent months."

On August 18, 2026, Joji published the most extensive disclosure of his career, a self reported "Road to profitable" thread revealing he was down 874,000 dollars across his linked wallets, broken out as "Fomo wallet - $381K. Main axiom wallet - $493K. Total to recoup 874,000$." He attributed the loss to "just overall gambling and roundtripping throughout last 2 years... slow bleed to 0 type shit, it adds up after a few bad months," publicly linking the wallets in the same thread.
