Origin
The token appeared days after MOTHER's breakout, with Tate throwing his promotion behind it and framing the coin explicitly as the daddy to Azalea's mother. Tate said he held a large allocation and pledged not to sell, with CoinDesk reporting his unsold wallet worth about 65 million dollars at the June peak, and he promoted the coin to his tens of millions of followers as a long term hold. The launch drew immediate allegations of coordinated insider buying: analysts noted that wallets funded through Binance with nearly identical amounts bought about 20 percent of the supply on June 9, before the coin's community account first tweeted, and some estimates put pre promotion accumulation near 30 percent of supply. DADDY reached a market capitalization around 240 million dollars within three days of launch, with some trackers recording the all time high market value slightly lower, near 209 million dollars, and the peak price around 0.336 dollars on June 12, 2024. FXStreet covered its 450 percent surge past MOTHER in mid June. The token then settled into the celebrity coin decay curve, but its chart stayed unusually news reactive: Decrypt and Cryptopolitan documented rallies of 20 to 78 percent on developments in Tate's legal saga, including Romanian charges being dropped in November 2024, his departure from Romania in February 2025, and a new Florida criminal investigation announced shortly after. Each event repriced the coin as a proxy on Tate's fortunes. By the mid 2020s it traded far below the June 2024 peak.
Cultural impact
