TYGR is a meme coin on [[Robinhood Chain]] launched in July 2026 as a tribute to the kitten in Keith Gill's Roaring Kitty profile picture, the avatar behind the 2021 GameStop memestock movement. The project's pitch is that the most famous cat in retail finance finally has a name, and that the name is Tygr.

## The lore

The Roaring Kitty avatar had circulated for years as an anonymous stock photo. A 2026 deep dive traced the image to a small village in the Czech Republic, where photographer Jiří Kasal snapped a local kitten in 2008 and uploaded the shot to stock image sites. Kasal is quoted on the project's site: "We called this particular kitten Tygr. It lived a village lifestyle, it walked around the area wherever it wanted." Tygr is Czech for tiger, and the token brands itself as "The one that started it all. The original Roaring Kitty." Commentators noted the irony of a Roaring Kitty tribute trading on a chain operated by Robinhood, the brokerage that restricted GameStop buying during the January 2021 squeeze that made Gill famous.

## Market history

TYGR's main Uniswap pool on Robinhood Chain dates from around July 20, 2026 per DexScreener, arriving in the wave of memes that followed [[Cash Cat]] onto the chain. It appeared in widely shared Crypto Twitter roundups of the ecosystem, including a thread by @michyexe citing "roughly 3 weeks into robinhood chain" with over $300 million in DeFi TVL and nearly $1 billion bridged. CryptoRank records an all time high of about $0.0015 on August 12, 2026, an implied market capitalization around $1.5 million on a supply of one billion tokens. As of mid August 2026 it trades near $0.0004, a market capitalization in the low hundreds of thousands of dollars, with daily volume in the tens of thousands.
