The Black Bull, traded under the ticker ANSEM, is a [[Solana]] memecoin launched on [[pump.fun]] in mid June 2026 and named after the trader and influencer [[Ansem]] (@blknoiz06), whose longstanding nickname on crypto Twitter is "the black bull." Ansem did not create the token. An anonymous deployer transferred the majority of the supply and the pump.fun creator role to his wallet, and Ansem subsequently adopted the coin, pledging to route his accumulated creator fees back to holders as recurring airdrops. The episode became one of the defining memecoin stories of mid 2026 and was widely credited with reviving activity on pump.fun. ## Launch Reports place the launch on pump.fun around June 16 or 17, 2026. According to Brave New Coin, the anonymous deployer spent roughly 6,300 dollars on the launch, acquired about 792 million of the 1 billion token supply from the [[bonding curve]], sent 650 million tokens (about 65 percent of supply) to Ansem's publicly known wallet, and cleared only about 5,500 dollars of profit on the remainder. The deployer also assigned the pump.fun creator role to Ansem, meaning the creator fees generated by trading volume would accrue to him rather than to the original [[dev]]. Exchange explainers describe the project as an independent community takeover, or [[cto]], built around Ansem's name rather than a token he initiated. ## Community takeover and airdrops For its first days the coin traded at a market cap in the tens of thousands of dollars. The turning point came in late June 2026, when Ansem acknowledged the token and announced he would give the fees back. On June 27 he posted that "there's enough good tokens that exist already, but sure I will airdrop portions of the creator fees," and on June 28 he wrote that he "had to give the trenches a stimmy since pump refuses to," a jab at pump.fun's own reward policies that resonated across [[the trenches]]. He committed to weekly airdrops of creator fees to randomly selected community members, with participation tied to following, retweeting, and commenting on the pump.fun profile. Coinsprobe reported that the token generated roughly 200,000 dollars in creator fees in its first week, with cumulative fees of about 378,210 dollars by June 28. Between June 27 and 29 an initial distribution wave sent approximately 7 million dollars worth of ANSEM to more than 700 wallets, and Ansem framed continued airdrops as a campaign to grow the holder base from about 25,000 wallets toward 1 million. By early July the holder count had passed 100,000. ## Market performance Following the airdrop announcements the token climbed 19,878 percent in seven days, reaching 0.121 dollars and a market cap of roughly 121 million dollars on June 29, 2026, with daily volume above 80 million dollars. CoinGecko records an all time high of 0.4436 dollars on July 6, 2026; Our Crypto Talk reported a fully diluted valuation near 362 million dollars in early July. Because Ansem's roughly 604 million tokens are excluded from circulating supply by major trackers, circulating figures (about 416 million tokens) run well below fully diluted ones. One widely shared trade saw a buyer turn 2,330 dollars into an estimated 614,500 dollars, a 261x return. As of mid August 2026 the token traded near 0.23 dollars with a circulating market cap around 96 million dollars. ## Reception Coverage credited The Black Bull with pulling pump.fun out of a prolonged slump: daily token launches on the platform hit an 80 day high during the frenzy, and SOL gained 7.7 percent during the rally. The token was verified on Jupiter and Phantom. Critics noted the concentration risk of a single wallet holding about 60 percent of supply, the wave of imposter ANSEM clones that burned buyers, and doubts about whether weekly airdrops could sustain demand. Supporters read the fee redistribution as a rare case of a KOL returning value to the community that made him famous. ## Ansem.io and the @ansem handle On August 17, 2026 Ansem opened [[Ansem.io]], a token launch and curation platform built around the coin. Every coin created through the site is still a [[pump.fun]] token, but The Defiant reported that each one reserves at least 3 percent of its supply for ANSEM holders, bought at the launch price in the same transaction that creates the coin, and that teams can burn ANSEM for Gold and Diamond status badges and a higher position on z500, the site's leaderboard. By 5:19 pm ET on launch day the site reported 19 coins launched, roughly 211,500 dollars airdropped to 26,700 wallets and 929,647 ANSEM burned, with the token trading around 0.303 dollars. Bankless framed the platform as an attempt to route external value to ANSEM holders through airdrops and burns rather than relying on creator fees alone. On the evening of August 18, 2026 Ansem posted that he had "officially acquired the @ansem handle, please follow :)", taking control of the X account that matches the token's ticker one day after the platform launch. The post did not say what he paid or how the handle was obtained. ## References - https://bravenewcoin.com/insights/ansems-ansem-gamble-can-one-traders-stimmy-for-the-trenches-reignite-solanas-memecoin-machine - https://coinsprobe.com/ansem-the-black-bull-goes-parabolic-as-ansem-announces-creator-fee-airdrops-trader-made-261x-gains/ - https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/crypto/articles/ansem-climbs-19-878-black-092341651.html - https://ourcryptotalk.com/news/ansem-memecoin-100k-holders-airdrop - https://crypto.news/what-is-ansem-coin-solana-influencer-memecoin-explained/ - https://bingx.com/en/learn/article/what-is-the-black-bull-ansem-liquidity-for-solana-creator-ecosystem-how-it-works - https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/the-black-bull - https://ansem.io/ - https://x.com/blknoiz06/status/2089896788404633633 - https://thedefiant.io/news/tokens/ansem-z500-index-teams-airdrop-supply-ansem-holders - https://www.bankless.com/read/news/ansem-debuts-launchpad-and-the-z500-onchain-index - https://www.bittime.com/en/blog/ansem-luncurkan-ansemio
