Remus is a pseudonymous cryptocurrency trader active in [[the trenches]] of the [[Solana]] memecoin market, posting on X as @remusofmars. He became one of the most cited trader stories of early 2026 when on chain analytics firm Arkham and several news outlets documented his position in WHITEWHALE, a memecoin themed around a high roller trader known as The White Whale. His X bio reads "i have a pHp in attention economic," his location is listed as Solangeles, and the account dates to October 2021, with about 36,800 followers as of August 2026.

## Trading philosophy

In a November 28, 2025 post that drew 873 likes, Remus described the trader's job as making "as much as you can and TP to into a diverse basket of SOVs before the great crash at the end of the century." He treats trader icemandot's "Do your fucking job" line as a personal creed, calling back to it on August 17, 2026: "Can't believe this was only 6 months ago lol 'Do your fucking job' Was so hard for like 1 day," referencing icemandot's original February 18, 2026 post.

## The WHITEWHALE trade

In early December 2025 Remus spent about 370 dollars on WHITEWHALE, at the time roughly 1.5 percent of the token's total supply. Within 24 hours he sold about 6,200 dollars worth, a 16x return on the entry, and as the token's market capitalization climbed toward 150 million dollars he cashed out around 220,000 dollars in total. Finbold reported in January 2026 that his remaining stake was worth about 930,000 dollars, alongside roughly 237,500 dollars in USDC, putting the tracked portfolio above 1.2 million dollars. Arkham publicized the position on X, at that point counting him up more than 800,000 dollars.

## Collapse

The trade unwound almost as fast as it built. WhiteWhale had already crashed once on January 20, 2026, when a top holder sold roughly 1.3 million dollars of tokens and the market cap fell about 60 percent from around 200 million dollars. It then fell roughly 50 percent again after the trader behind the project abruptly quit, citing a family crisis and pressure to pump the price, and permanently locked 500 million tokens then worth about 13 million dollars. In his own telling, posted August 18, 2026, the fallout compounded after the trade: "Immediately after WW basically every bag I bought would get mass reported and suspended. A community made REMUS token on Solana markets itself as the official fomo mascot on that basis, a claim made by the token's own site rather than by FOMO Labs. Public banter between Remus and the founders documents familiarity with the team; the sources consulted do not support any formal role at the company. As of mid August 2026 that REMUS token trades as REMUS/WSOL on [[PumpSwap]] at roughly a 124,000 dollar market cap.

Remus remains a visible fomo user by his own account and has implied he once held the leaderboard's top spot: "Gonna make it back to #1 on the FOMO leaderboard by the time it makes it to #1 overall in the App Store Lots of fucking work to do, but #manifest," he posted on August 18, 2026.

Grok's AI generated wiki Grokipedia carries a "Remus of Mars" page describing him as a cofounder of "Aint Labs" and crediting [[Threadguy]] with spotlighting the WHITEWHALE trade via the line "He's up $850,000 off of $370, that is the type of story that gets people into Crypto." Neither claim is confirmed by his own public profile or by the reporting cited elsewhere in this article; both should be treated as unverified claims sourced only to that page.

## Ansem.io launchpad commentary

Remus was an early voice framing the token economics of [[Ansem]]'s [[Ansem.io]] launchpad. On August 17, 2026 he laid out a flywheel thesis: "ANSEM pumps -> ppl look to buy beta on ansem io -> volume buys and burns ANSEM -> projects w money buy and burn ANSEM to get listed -> ANSEM pumps." The same day he argued "$ANSEM could trade at a similar market cap as an L1/Tech Stock" under a "Traders become Celebrities" framing, and needled the setup with "what does it mean when the top coin on a launchpad makes its own launchpad."
