Pistacio ($Pistacio) is a [[Solana]] memecoin born on August 25, 2026 from a character drawn by Marcello_695, an artist known as a resident illustrator for the $wassie and $pepo communities. The character art was posted at 18:34 UTC; an unprompted deployer, unconnected to Marcello, launched the token 47 minutes 31 seconds later on [[pump.fun]], and the coin reached a market cap of $6.73 million within its first four hours. ## The artist Marcello_695, display name "marcello," is an individually verified X account, handle @Marcello_695, that joined the platform on April 30, 2022. A direct pull of the profile today put it at 3,923 followers against 2,195 following, with 17,844 posts and 4,714 media posts logged. His bio reads, verbatim: "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing. Artista for : $wassie , $pepo." The linked website on his profile, exchange.art/marcello, now returns only a platform closure notice rather than his portfolio, reading "We're closed, thank you to every artist and collector who built this community with us," so his pre 2026 drop history on that site could not be reviewed directly. Marcello's bio names him as artist for two existing, separate memecoins. $WASSIE is an Ethereum token with a Base deployment that CoinGecko lists at roughly $369,000 in market cap; the Wassie character itself predates Marcello, tracing to a 2017 meme by a user known as wasserpest and originally drawn by an artist credited as Tukinowagamo, which makes Marcello a contributing community artist for an existing character rather than its originator. $PEPO, styled "Peepee vs. Poopoo," is a Solana token CoinGecko lists at roughly $140,000 in market cap. The credit is corroborated outside his own bio: two separate accounts inside the $WASSIE community, WassieSupporter and Sharky_Wassie, each carried "PFP by @Marcello_695" in their own bios across scrapes dated July 27, August 5, August 7 and August 19, 2026, evidence of an active commission practice inside the community that predates the Pistacio story. Day to day, Marcello's posting is community banter inside the $WASSIE circle, much of it short replies to [[inversebrah]], a central figure in that community. On August 25, 2026 at 04:42 UTC, hours before the Pistacio story began, he posted "GM bear market Survivors," a line that places him inside the mood of the [[2026 memecoin winter]] the same day his character launched. No press or larger crypto Twitter coverage of Marcello_695 individually was located prior to the Pistacio launch; before that day he was known within the $WASSIE and $PEPO community rather than to wider crypto Twitter. Marcello_695 is not [[Marcell]] (@MarcellxMarcell), the trader covered elsewhere on this wiki, despite the similar handles. The two are confirmed different people: different X account IDs (1520268528556912641 for Marcello_695 against 1585960998321770497 for Marcell), different join dates (April 30, 2022 against October 28, 2022), wildly different follower counts (3,923 against roughly 146,000), different bios ("Artista for : $wassie , $pepo" against "@UGCabal | @TrenchWarriorrs"), different avatars, and different linked sites (exchange.art/marcello against t.me/marcellcooks). No connection between the two accounts has been found. Marcello posted once more in the day after his "phone just blew up" line: at 23:40:09 UTC on August 25 he shared a fourth character image, again 2048x2048 pixels, captioned simply "Pistachio," the conventional English spelling rather than the coin's own "Pistacio" ticker. It became his highest engagement post of the event, drawing 1,352 likes, 263 retweets, 284 replies, 35 quotes and 67,533 views at the time it was checked for this update, ahead of both the original naming post and the cape drawing. The spelling mismatch drew a wave of organic reply confusion, among them "so is it Pistachio or Pistacio," "EDIT THE NAME BRO TO 'PISTACIO,'" and a blunter "You had a typo delete this bro, you don't know how many retards are in the sol trenches;" no reply from Marcello_695 himself resolving the question was found. His account's own follower count grew sharply alongside the story, from 3,923 before the token launched to 8,539 in the most recent check, more than doubling in about nine hours, even as his total post count moved only a handful, indicating the growth reflects attention landing on his existing account rather than a burst of new art. [[inversebrah]], the central figure of Marcello's home $WASSIE community, with roughly 659,991 followers, posted at least 17 times spanning and following the Pistacio launch window, and, per a corpus author filter and a direct profile check, none of them mentioned Pistacio, Marcello, or the coin by name or obvious allusion. That is reported here as a scoped finding, an absence within the corpus and the profile check available to this research, not a claim that inversebrah has never referenced Pistacio anywhere. One further lead into Marcello's pre Pistacio art history was chased down: the Wayback Machine holds a snapshot of his now closed exchange.art portfolio page dated October 17, 2025, confirming an active profile existed under his own creator brand, complete with a custom banner image, before the platform's 2026 shutdown. The archived page itself is only the raw shell of a client rendered app, however, and carries no piece titles, collection names, or prices; that content loaded from the live site's own API calls at view time, calls the snapshot never captured. Marcello's pre 2026 body of work therefore remains undocumented beyond the $WASSIE and $PEPO credits already established above. ## The character and the launch The character's name traces to one tweet. On August 25, 2026 at 18:34:31 UTC, Marcello_695 posted an original piece of artwork, a single 2048x2048 pixel image, captioned "His nickname on the street is Pistacio." The post quoted an earlier post from @bacon_wassie that same day, at 11:26:33 UTC, describing the character as "A very hairy frok." Marcello's naming post drew 232 likes, 24 retweets and 56 replies at first check, and had passed 102,000 views; it is the first documented appearance anywhere in the research corpus of "Pistacio" as a named character. Marcello did not deploy the token himself. Forty seven minutes and thirty one seconds after his naming post, at 19:22:01 UTC, an account called @jup_enjoyoors posted: "the artist of the wassie and pepo meme just named a new character and no one devved it. genny wallet in their pinned tweet, sending fees." ("Genny" is slang for genesis.) The pump.fun token itself was created onchain one second later, at 19:22:02 UTC. @jup_enjoyoors is individually verified on X, not the organization verified tier carried by Jupiter's own flagship account, but its posting history, tagged alongside accounts such as @jup_studio and @drip_haus in named art contest submissions going back to at least 2025, ties it to Jupiter's real Enjoyoors community art platform at enjoyoors.jup.ag rather than to an account freshly created to borrow the branding for one post. It is neither [[Jupiter]] speaking officially nor an unrelated impersonator. @jup_enjoyoors's tweet claims trading fees are being routed to a wallet named in Marcello's own pinned tweet. The pinned tweet's contents were not retrievable by any method tried: a full pull of Marcello's profile through the fxtwitter API returns no pinned tweet field at all, a separate mirror returned nothing, and X's syndication timeline API returned an empty response. Two other mirror routes, Nitter and xcancel, were both already dark by the time of this research, having been served cease and desist notices dated August 24, 2026, one day before the Pistacio launch. On the chain side, the pump.fun API does identify a specific wallet as the token's onchain creator, but with the pinned tweet unreachable there is nothing to compare that wallet against, so the mechanics of the routing remain unverified. The artist himself, however, has confirmed receiving fees. Marcello's evening unfolded in a documented arc. At 20:15:27 UTC, 53 minutes after the token's creation, he posted a second drawing of the character flying in a red superhero cape, captioned "It looks like Pistacio is on a mission" (406 likes at verification). Ten minutes later, at 20:25:16 UTC, he addressed the coin directly and in full: "Okay, for the sake of transparency. Someone made a meme based on one of my drawings and gave me a fees. If the coin doesn't crash, I'll draw memes for them. Invest at your own risk. Thank you to the community that made this happen, and good luck. 🤎" (625 likes and about 97,000 views at verification). At 22:07:50 UTC, with the coin past six million dollars, he posted again: "My phone just blew up. Thank you again to the community that created it. That little green creature is incredible." The statement acknowledges receiving fees in his own words, upgrading the deployer's routing claim from a single account's assertion to an artist confirmed arrangement, though the amounts flowing onchain remain unverified. His conditional pledge to keep drawing for the coin if it survives, delivered alongside an unprompted risk warning to buyers, is among the more careful artist responses on record to an unsolicited tokenization. pump.fun itself published an article on the coin the same day at its coin page, titled "Pistacio Rallying After Community Tokenizes Marcello's Drawing," with no byline, recounting the naming post, the community tokenization, the fee allocation and Marcello's statements. The platform publishing editorial articles on individual coins is itself a recent layer of its content push, covered at [[pump.fun mobile app]]. ## The fee question Marcello's own statements above are the only confirmed record that fees have reached him at all; whether that flow is visible onchain remains unresolved. The token's creator wallet, GH9yk8vgFvHnAD8JZqXxr3hBN1Lr1mJ9NPzrP5mVqiJe, held a steady 50.510229967 SOL, about $4,903 at $97.07 per SOL, across every check made against it between 00:48 and 02:32 UTC on August 26, confirmed by decoding three separate transactions inside that window; each of the three was unrelated incoming SPL token dust, an idempotent associated token account creation for another mint, not a pump.fun or PumpSwap fee collection instruction touching this wallet. A later check found the same wallet had moved to about 55.15 SOL, a gain of roughly 4.6 SOL. The cause, decoded directly from the wallet's own subsequent transactions, was unrelated to Pistacio: the wallet sold a position in a different token entirely, routed through a Jito or Axiom style bundler, a transaction type that invokes a generic per trade fee subroutine on an ordinary sale rather than any Pistacio specific creator fee claim. Neither reading proves nor disproves that Pistacio fees have reached Marcello: a wallet holding steady across the hour and forty four minute sampled window could still contain an earlier lump sum already received, and fees can route through claim mechanisms that would not necessarily show up as a real time balance change either way. The amounts flowing to the artist from the coin, beyond what he has already described in his own words above, remain unverified onchain. ## The breakout The token's market cap started near $40,000 shortly after creation, while its bonding curve pool was still active, before accelerating fast enough that any single figure went stale within minutes. An early check put the token's all time high market cap at about $2.97 million, timestamped 22:17:42 UTC, roughly three hours after creation. A later check found the token setting a fresh all time high of $6.73 million at 22:34:45 UTC, per the pump.fun API's own ath_market_cap field, cross checked against DexScreener; the token was still climbing at the moment of that pull. The climb kept going well past that point. A pump.fun API pull run in the early hours of August 26 found the ath_market_cap field holding at $19,063,615.19, exact to the cent and unchanged on a fresh re pull, a stored figure rather than a transient one, with an ath_market_cap_timestamp converting to 23:40:40 UTC on August 25, a new all time high nearly three times the $6.73 million this article first published. A separate, undated mid climb reading placed the market cap at roughly $17.9 million; rather than a contradiction, the two readings are consistent with two different moments along the same roughly 66 minute upward run from $6.73 million to $19.06 million, a stretch in which neither pump.fun's API nor DexScreener held still long enough for a single figure to describe the whole climb. Timing only, printed as an observed coincidence and nothing more: the all time high tick at 23:40:40 UTC landed 31.0 seconds after Marcello_695 posted his fourth character drawing, captioned simply "Pistachio," at 23:40:09 UTC. Nothing in either the onchain record or the post itself carries any causal signal connecting the two moments; the 31 second gap is reported here strictly as an interval between two independently timestamped events, not as a trigger or a cause. From that peak the market cap retraced by roughly half. The final pull for this update, taken around 03:39 UTC on August 26, put the figure at $9,835,768 per pump.fun's API and $9,524,736 on DexScreener's main PumpSwap pair, a range of roughly $9.5 to $9.8 million, still well above the $6.73 million this article first published but down sharply from the $19.06 million peak. Liquidity spread across trading venues quickly. The original pump.fun bonding curve completed and migrated to a PumpSwap pool within the token's first hour; by the time of the final check for this article, nine separate pools were trading the mint, spanning PumpSwap, six pools on Meteora, and a new pool on Raydium that appeared at 22:28:49 UTC, with combined 24 hour volume across all nine of about $9.53 million and combined liquidity of about $462,000. That is an unusually fast spread of liquidity venues for a token only a few hours old, and it is reported here only as the observable timing pattern it is; whether it reflects organic third party interest, automated trading, or coordinated seeding was not established. Holder concentration could not be checked by any route attempted: pump.fun's own holder endpoints returned no data, Solscan was inaccessible, and the public Solana RPC's largest accounts call was rate limited, so the question of who actually holds the supply remains open. That pool count kept growing. A follow up check around 03:39 UTC on August 26 found 27 total pools referencing the mint. Of those, 22 traded Pistacio itself directly, against SOL, USDC, Wrapped BTC, or one other memecoin, spread across PumpSwap, the original bonding curve, six pools on Meteora, and further pools on Raydium and Orca; combined 24 hour volume across those 22 pairs came to roughly $41.7 million and combined liquidity to roughly $1.37 million, both well up from the $9.53 million and $462,000 recorded across the original nine. The remaining five of the 27 were not Pistacio trading against another asset at all, but new tokens using Pistacio itself as their own trading pair, a pattern familiar from other pump.fun manias: BabyP (created 23:45:26 UTC), MOXY, Billy da GOAT, BabyPistacio (ticker BPISTACIO), and TRINIX. None of the five showed any connection to Marcello or the original deployer in the data checked for this update, though that check did not extend to wallet level tracing of the five copycats' own deployers. This remains, as before, an observable pattern reported without a claim about its cause; whether the continued pool growth reflects organic third party interest, automated trading, or coordinated seeding was not established. Holder concentration remains unchecked: two further routes tried for this update, Birdeye's public holder endpoint and Solana.fm's token holder endpoint, returned no usable data alongside the routes already ruled out, and the public Solana RPC's largest accounts call was rate limited on every attempt, so the question of who actually holds the supply remains open. Confirmed amplification of the story, as of publication, centers on the tweets above plus pump.fun's own same day article on the coin. No independent press coverage of Pistacio specifically had surfaced in research as of this article's writing, a gap very likely explained by the story being only a few hours old. Amplification grew substantially in the hours that followed. @MaisonGhost, an individually verified account with 243,102 followers, quote tweeted Marcello's original naming post at 22:22:06 UTC with "Pistacio is here to save the Solana trenches." The official [[Pump.fun Ecosystem]] account, posting as @PumpfunEco, organization verified and operated by pump.fun as the platform's own scoreboard channel, posted at least eight distinct updates on the coin between 22:31 UTC on August 25 and 01:04 UTC on August 26, opening with "$Pistacio is now trending on the Pumpfun app!" at 22:31:17 UTC and later posting "$Pistacio wicks to a $19M market cap following a $49,000 whale buy" at 23:49:41 UTC, nine minutes after the pump.fun API's own recorded all time high tick. Those posts are pump.fun's own marketing and trend coverage of the coin rather than a formal listing decision or a source independent of the platform, and are reported here as attributed color, not fact; they remain distinct from pump.fun's own bylined article on the coin, which had not been updated past its original text as of this update's own final check, still describing only Marcello's 20:25:16 UTC statement with no mention of his later posts or any market cap figure beyond the article's original numbers. No independent press coverage of Pistacio specifically had surfaced as of this update either. ## Status The Pistacio story has now run into its second day and has mostly settled into a pattern rather than an open question. The market cap ran from the $6.73 million this article first published to a $19.06 million all time high roughly an hour later, then retraced to about $9.5 to $9.8 million by this update's final check, all within the token's first eight hours; liquidity kept spreading, from nine pools at publication to 22 pools trading Pistacio directly plus five further tokens using Pistacio itself as a trading pair. What remains unknown has narrowed only slightly: the onchain fee amounts actually flowing to the artist are still unconfirmed, the creator wallet's own activity so far explained by unrelated trades rather than any Pistacio fee event, and who holds the supply behind its now 27 pools remains fully unresolved, the same holder concentration endpoints that failed at publication still returning no data a day later. Pump.fun's own bylined article on the coin has not been updated past its original text, [[inversebrah]] has still not engaged with the story in any way this research could find, and no independent press coverage had surfaced as of this update. Four days on, the retrace had gone much further. A pull at 17:06:11 UTC on August 29, 2026 put the market cap at about $1.69 million, down 60 percent on that day alone and roughly 91 percent below the $19.06 million all time high of August 25, on 24 hour volume of about $2.18 million across 22 pairs against roughly $179,000 of liquidity in the deepest pair. The all time high figure itself is unchanged on a fresh pull of the same pump.fun field this article cited at publication, $19,063,615.19 timestamped 23:40:40 UTC on August 25, so the peak this article recorded stands; what has changed is everything after it. Nothing in the record indicates a liquidity pull or any single event behind the decline, which reads as ordinary post mania selling across a thinning book rather than a discrete incident. On the spectrum the wiki's precedents define, from [[Nubcat]]'s Leon Karssen pattern of an artist's work adopted without him, to [[Catecoin]]'s outright denial by Atsuko Sato, Pistacio has landed somewhere neither had reached within hours: a community tokenization the artist publicly acknowledged, was paid for, and conditionally embraced, while warning buyers of the risk in the same breath. ## The DexScreener dispute Four days after launch, on August 29, 2026, the coin's own stalled DexScreener listing update became the center of a public dispute between two figures this wiki covers separately, [[slingoor]] and [[Mike Dudas]], neither of whom is connected to Pistacio's launch itself (see The character and the launch above). At 04:12 UTC, @KingTroll (4,470 followers) posted that "@Marcello_695 was taking a little longer to update DexScreener than the pond wanted," naming the coin's mint directly and casting himself as the one who would get it "validated and put him where he belongs. On top of the lily pad. King of the Pond." Nine minutes later, at 04:21 UTC, he tagged slingoor directly, writing that "the community deserves better" and that slingoor "could have done this the moment they wanted to save the community." Slingoor answered at 04:24 UTC, quote tweeting KingTroll's post: "I paid dex, and gave @Marcello_695 the order number. He had one job: tweet the order number. No tweet, no update. Before you speak figure it all out bozo. I was willing to pay the 15 sol or whatever to update EVERY TERMINAL AND DEXTOOLS as well. you can go ahead and work my bags bro I'd prefer that anyhow." (92 likes, 4 retweets, 40 replies, 2 quotes and 25,560 views at pull). This is the only public, dated account of what happened to the update on the record. No reply from Marcello_695 addressing the specific accusation, that he was given an order number and did not tweet it, was found in the research for this update; Marcello's own confirmed public statements about Pistacio, quoted in full above, predate this dispute by four days and do not address it. Thirteen minutes after slingoor's post, at 04:37 UTC, Mike Dudas posted, with an attached image: "Incredible that Sling keeps trading these lumps of coal. You can lead a horse to water but you simply can't lead a tranquilized memecoin caller to water." (254 likes, 10 retweets, 75 replies, 10 quotes and 43,651 views at pull). A direct pull and inspection of the attached image confirmed it to be a screenshot of slingoor's own post from thirteen minutes earlier; Dudas's own text did not name Pistacio, slingoor's post, or Marcello_695 directly. Slingoor posted "i didnt do nothing." at 06:59 UTC (139 replies on a four word post) and, at 12:58 UTC, a fuller defense replying to a separate critic, @jo5htheboss: "I did nothing. I am -70K. Get ur numbers up big guy. You bought PRIOR to me trying to save it. It is not a sling coin. Take accountability." Whether the "-70K" figure he cited refers to Pistacio specifically or to a broader trading stretch is not stated by him. "It is not a sling coin" matches this article's own account of the launch above: Pistacio was deployed by an unprompted third party unconnected to slingoor or to Marcello_695. @StalkHQ separately reported slingoor as the coin's top holder as of August 27, 2026, holding 16.8 million tokens then worth $76,700, and had described him days earlier as buying into the position while it was down, not as its originator. No further public exchange between slingoor and Dudas had surfaced by the most recent check. No on the record response from Marcello_695 to being named in the dispute, or to the standing accusation that he did not tweet an order number he had been given, was found. ## References - fxtwitter pull of @Marcello_695: https://api.fxtwitter.com/Marcello_695 - fxtwitter pull of @MarcellxMarcell: https://api.fxtwitter.com/MarcellxMarcell - exchange.art/marcello (closure notice): https://exchange.art/marcello - CoinGecko, wassie: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/wassie - CoinGecko, pepo: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/pepo - X post by @Marcello_695 (Pistacio naming and art): https://x.com/Marcello_695/status/2092319727901118474 - X post by @bacon_wassie (original character description): https://x.com/bacon_wassie/status/2092212027435504048 - X post by @Marcello_695 ("GM bear market Survivors"): https://x.com/Marcello_695/status/2092110246030246227 - X post by @jup_enjoyoors (deployment announcement): https://x.com/jup_enjoyoors/status/2092331684863652241 - X post by @Marcello_695 (Pistacio cape drawing): https://x.com/Marcello_695/status/2092345130636226966 - X post by @Marcello_695 (transparency statement on the coin and fees): https://x.com/Marcello_695/status/2092347600510861350 - X post by @Marcello_695 ("My phone just blew up"): https://x.com/Marcello_695/status/2092373410865201296 - pump.fun coin article, "Pistacio Rallying After Community Tokenizes Marcello's Drawing": https://pump.fun/coin/FZqdw6oSDCbHtKYxmhnfbi97SnyVy8jaYpdCoMrrjKa2/article - fxtwitter pull of @jup_enjoyoors: https://api.fxtwitter.com/jup_enjoyoors - enjoyoors.jup.ag: https://enjoyoors.jup.ag - pump.fun API, Pistacio token: https://frontend-api-v3.pump.fun/coins/FZqdw6oSDCbHtKYxmhnfbi97SnyVy8jaYpdCoMrrjKa2 - DexScreener API, Pistacio token: https://api.dexscreener.com/latest/dex/tokens/FZqdw6oSDCbHtKYxmhnfbi97SnyVy8jaYpdCoMrrjKa2 - nitter.net (cease and desist notice): https://nitter.net - xcancel.com (cease and desist notice): https://xcancel.com - X post by @Marcello_695 ("Pistachio" drawing): https://x.com/Marcello_695/status/2092396645337972993 - fxtwitter pull of @inversebrah: https://api.fxtwitter.com/inversebrah - Wayback Machine snapshot of exchange.art/marcello (October 17, 2025): https://web.archive.org/web/20251017040909/https://exchange.art/marcello - Solscan, Pistacio creator wallet (reader link; balance and transaction data in this article came from direct Solana mainnet RPC queries): https://solscan.io/account/GH9yk8vgFvHnAD8JZqXxr3hBN1Lr1mJ9NPzrP5mVqiJe - Solana mainnet RPC, creator wallet balance and transaction history: https://api.mainnet-beta.solana.com - X post by @MaisonGhost (wave amplification): https://x.com/MaisonGhost/status/2092377000291836258 - X post by @PumpfunEco ("now trending" alert): https://x.com/PumpfunEco/status/2092379314213802045 - X post by @PumpfunEco ("$19M market cap" whale buy alert): https://x.com/PumpfunEco/status/2092399041535484211 - X profile of @PumpfunEco: https://x.com/PumpfunEco - X post by @StalkHQ (Pistacio top holder claim): https://x.com/StalkHQ/status/2093000923861897307 - X post by @StalkHQ (Pistacio, buying to dip): https://x.com/StalkHQ/status/2093005399909859535 - X post by @KingTroll (root: Marcello DexScreener needle): https://x.com/KingTroll/status/2093552416398716932 - X post by @KingTroll (community deserves better): https://x.com/KingTroll/status/2093554686863520207 - X post by @slingoorio (I paid dex): https://x.com/slingoorio/status/2093555447781273892 - X post by @mdudas (lumps of coal): https://x.com/mdudas/status/2093558663797424636 - X post by @slingoorio (i didnt do nothing): https://x.com/slingoorio/status/2093594269462241537 - X post by @slingoorio (-70K / not a sling coin): https://x.com/slingoorio/status/2093684748098916669
