Bankr is an AI agent on Base founded by the pseudonymous 0xDeployer that executes trades from natural language messages on X and Farcaster, with the BNKR token funded by a fee driven buyback loop.
Function
Bankr is an AI powered trading agent built on Base, the Ethereum layer 2, founded in 2024 by the pseudonymous developer known as 0xDeployer. Users tag the bot or message it on X and Farcaster in plain language to create wallets, buy and sell tokens, bridge, and deploy coins, with a private terminal for direct use. The system integrates the x402 payments protocol, letting other agents pay Bankr for onchain services, which placed it near the center of the Base wing of the ai agent meta alongside the deployer bot clanker.
BNKR
BankrCoin (BNKR) is the project's token, with a fixed supply of 100 billion on Base. A 0.8 percent fee on Bankr transactions funds recurring BNKR buybacks, tying token demand to agent usage. A Coinbase listing in July 2025 sent the token up about 60 percent and pushed its market capitalization over 100 million dollars, though it later retraced to the tens of millions, figures the official Bankr account itself posted.
History
Bankr grew through 2025 as one of the more durable AI agent products after the initial mania cooled, shipping a developer SDK and integrations rather than pivoting. In 2026 it previewed Bankr Agent, a browser based agent workspace with sandboxed files, skills, and GitHub and CLI access. In July 2026 the project went omnichain: the team deployed a LayerZero OFT bridge between Base and Robinhood Chain and seeded a 50 thousand dollar BNKR/WETH pool on the new chain, with the Bankr agent reportedly executing the deployment itself. A BNKR buyback vault on Robinhood Chain followed on July 21, 2026, recycling fees into buybacks and staking rewards.
Use in the trenches
Bankr's pitch to the trenches is removing the interface: no terminal, no bridge UI, just a reply to a tweet. That made it a fixture of agent to agent commerce experiments on Base and a common answer to the question of which AI agent projects still have working products. As of mid 2026 it remains among the most cited applications on Base and an early mover on Robinhood Chain.
